The application process for AIR’s 2019 New Voices Scholarships closes this Friday, May 31 at midnight ET. Selected scholars receive a stipend up to $1,500 to attend the 2019 Third Coast Conference, a complimentary one-year AIR membership, and special opportunities and support at the conference as well as throughout your career. Catherine Girardeau is a senior producer of Against The Rules, a podcast with author/journalist Michael Lewis (Moneyball, The Big Short), recently featured on This American Life. Against The Rules covers fairness and the people who try to enforce it for Pushkin Industries (an audio company co-founded by Jacob Weisberg, former chairman & editor-in-chief, Slate Group and bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell (The New Yorker). Catherine is also a producer for Origin Stories for the Leakey Foundation and a podcaster in residence at Grace Cathedral. She's also been a senior producer at Slate.com, worked with Depict.com, the Stanford Storytelling Project, APM's Marketplace, KALW, etc. Her radio features have been aired on PRI's The World, Marketplace, Marketplace Tech.

We're excited to announce that applications for AIR's 2019 New Voices Scholarships are now open. Every year we partner up with Third Coast to provide 15 recipients with funding for travel and attendance to the annual Third Coast Conference in Chicago, Illinois, held October 31–November 2 this year.

If chosen, you receive: A stipend up to $1,500 to attend the 2019 Third Coast Conference, a complimentary one-year AIR membership, and special opportunities and support at the conference as well as throughout your career. All New Voices Scholars are gathered for a two-day retreat on Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30, 2019, before Third Coast Conference begins. The full New Voices time commitment is October 29–November 3.
