@ThirdCoastFest Radio Residency for diverse voices seeks applicants, deadline Jan 5

Hey FC folks – happy almost holidays! I'm writing to tell you about the Third Coast Radio Residency: a unique opportunity for radio and podcast producers from diverse backgrounds to spend a week immersed in work, sonic camaraderie & mentorship, now open for applications thru January 5, 2018!

Here's more info:

The Third Coast Radio Residency is a rare opportunity to take a week away from the craziness of daily life & make progress on an audio story or documentary project. This year’s Radio Residency takes place May 1-6, 2018 at Ragdale, a woodsy artists’ community just outside Chicago. Producers receive their own private living and work space, one-on-one editing sessions from mentor Nishat Kurwa & additional workshops from Third Coast alum Sarah Geis. This week is for the producers to use however they’d like: with plenty of time to work, wander, commune & share expertise. Plus, Residents share (delicious) family dinners.

Note: this Residency is generously subsidized, and the total cost to each participant will be $210, for six nights (+ all travel).

Read about the alums from our 2017 Radio Residency (alums from both ’16 & ’17 continue to stay in touch & support one another!)

Producers of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

And if you'd like to help spread the word, here's a sample tweet:

KALW's beloved General Manager Matt Martin is leaving and we're looking for the next GM. This is a rare, unique opportunity for the right person! Do you know someone who can lead and grow this scrappy, creative gem in the public radio world? We're open to people inside and outside of public radio; non-profit/business management experience is a must.
