America Abroad looking for Pitches on Entrepreneurship, deadline Feb 23

America Abroad seeks pitches on Entrepreneurship (PAID). Deadline Feb 23.
This upcoming month, America Abroad is focusing on how the government, whether it be municipal, state, regional or federal can encourage entrepreneurship in the United States. What incentives work? Should it be in the business of picking "winners and losers" or just creating the conditions for winners…how? Are there good examples where the government has helped innovation/entrepreneurship…are there examples where it hasn't? Please email either me at mlittle@americaabroadmedia.org or Rob Sachs at rsachs@americaabroadmedia.org with your pitches. Due date is the 23rd of February. We pay $150 a minute for 5-6 minute piece. Thanks! Martha Little.

After The Story with Dick Gordon went off the air two producers at that show, along with myself, decided to start a new podcast.  We chose the focus to be on crime.  The first episode went up yesterday and we will be releasing new episodes every couple of weeks.

We hope that the show will be a place to showcase all different types of storytelling.  If you have any ideas or pieces that might be right for the show we'd love to hear them.
Thanks very much.

BBC Media Action, Senior Radio Producer, South Sudan – 3 months

BBC Media Action, Senior Radio Producer, South Sudan – 3 months. Deadline is TODAY!

BBC Media Action, the BBC’s international development charity, is looking for a Senior Radio Producer for three months to start as soon as possible.

The Senior Producer will work across two of our current projects in South Sudan.  The first is supporting the development and delivery of media outputs in response to humanitarian crises in South Sudan, which involves the reworking of current radio programmes in response to the current crises.  The second is overseeing the production and delivery of radio programmes and PSAs being made as part of an education project to encourage girls’ education.  This requires retaining an editorial oversight and providing technical leadership of all broadcast programming, ensuring systems are in place to support all aspects of production.  Building the capacity of national staff members within the team will be a large part of this job, as is building collaboration across departments to deliver the most creative programming possible.  The Senior Producer must ensure outputs are compliant with BBC guidelines as well as meeting project goals. Previous Hostile Environment training is necessary.

Please send CV’s to anna.hextall@bbc.co.uk by Monday 3rd February 2014.
